Idli Sambhar

The truth is "I dislike idlis". No one can eat it without sambhar (hats off to those who do) and thats wat compelled me to try it out today. And like magic it turned out to be good :)) . It did not taste like how u get to eat in all our awesome darshinis in namma Bengallooru,but was never-the-less good. This is more like how you get to taste in Madras as i found the recipe on a TN website. Nxt time i visit Shanti Sagar will tryto befriend a cook there ;-)). Appaji really liked it and he ate more idlis than usual. So tats my achievement for the day!

Ingrediants: (Serves 3)
1 cup Moong dal1/4 cup Thoor dal
1 Drumsticks cut into pieces
1 Carrot cut into pieces
1 Potato cut into pieces
2 Green chillies
1 Medium size tomato
2 Medium size onion
1 tsp Dhaniya/Coriander powder
1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
A bit of Good/Bella/Jaggery
Salt for taste

Vagarne/Seasoning:
2tbsp Oil
1/2 Chopped onions
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1/2 tsp Urad dalCurry leaves

Method:
1. In a pressure cooker fry the moong dal for 6-7 mts.
2. Add the thoor dal, vegetables, chopped tomato, chopped onion, green chillies.
3. Pressure them till 2 whistle. Then,open the cooker & add coriander powder,chilli powder,turmeric powder,salt & cook for 5 mts.
4. Heat the oil & splutter the mustard seeds,urad dal,curry leaves.5. Add the onion & fry the till gloden brown & add to the sambhar.
